New Patients Counsellor optimises service delivery at Muscat Eye Laser Center

23 May 2011, Muscat: Muscat Eye Laser Center, the Sultanate’s leading corrective eye services provider, has beefed up its frontline staff with the recent appointment of a new ‘Head of Patients Counsellor’.

Mr. Mohammad Moslimani, an optometrist by training and experience, is the latest addition to the Center’s team of top-flight specialists headed by Dr. Maria Clara Arbelaez, a highly regarded corneal transplant and refractive surgeon.

As Head of Patients Counsellor, Mr. Moslimani’s principal remit is to field queries from patients and visitors, and address their desires and concerns with regard to specific eye care issues. Young, dynamic and genial, Mr. Moslimani is eminently up to the task given his long experience as an optician and optometrist. Over the past decade, he has served at a number of reputable eye care clinics and optical outlets across the Gulf and Middle East region.

“As a qualified optometrist, Mr. Moslimani brings to the table an intimate knowledge of his trade that will further complement the unrivalled capabilities of Muscat Eye Laser Center in the delivery of superior eye care services. We wanted a professional with a strong industry background to be the interface between the Center and our valued patients. Mr. Moslimani fits the bill superbly,” said Sameer Al Awam, CEO Muscat Eye Laser Center.

Hiring the services of an optometrist as a Patients Counsellor optimises service delivery standards to the benefit of the patients as he provides detailed explanation of the diagnosis, treatment options as well as the pros and cons of the treatment. As and when the patients have any additional queries, they can clarify with the Patients Counsellor.

Jointly established by Sameer Al Awam and Dr. Maria Clara Arbelaez in April 2002, Muscat Eye Laser Center is Oman’s leading eye care centre specialising in refractive surgery using advanced technology and procedures. Centrally located in Qurum, the center has two fully equipped operating theatres, six consultation and meeting rooms, six diagnostic and four preparation rooms. It has recently been accredited with the ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality system.

The specialist team is led by Dr. Maria Clara Arbelaez, an internationally recognised corneal transplant and refractive surgeon from Colombia with over 20 years of experience in Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East. For more information, visit the website www.muscateye.com

The upshot, says Dr. Juan G. Graviria, Scientific Director, is that patients now enjoy better outcomes, faster r...
